Hi Justin, yes, we have been dealing with Pierce's Disease for many years at Monte Bello (and to a lesser extent in Sonoma). It is a cyclical disease with its latest 'wave' from 2013-2018. We have been working with a new phage cocktail to help manage this disease.

Those Vines in Geyserville look REALLY beautiful! I love the grass and green running in between the rows.!

Thanks Matteo and Justin. Those old vines give us a beautiful crop every year - and some years we have to thin to make sure that they don't over-exert themselves!

Hi Darius, these legume/grass cover crops add organic matter (which translates into increased soil carbon over time) and nitrogen. Microbes in the soil then set to work converting both into something the vines can use.

HI Emanuele, the older vines are 10 feet between rows and 6 feet between vines; our newer plantings are 8 feet between rows and 4 feet between vines.

Hi Darius,

the Fox Road wine was from a vineyard in Lodi. We decided to stay near Sonoma County, where our zinfandel base is.
